Announcing our 2009 Scholar Ambassadors

The UNSW Co-op Program is pleased to announce that we have 6 Scholar Ambassadors for the Co-op Program who will conduct School Visits and attend Careers Markets on behalf of the Co-op Program this year. We asked all of our Ambassdors why they applied for the Co-op Program to begin with and also why they wanted to be a Co-op Scholar Ambassador, see their answers by clicking on their name below:

Whilst they are appointed to speak about the structure of the Co-op Program we still invite and encourage Scholar to volunteer to visit their own former high schools with the Scholar Ambassador to talk about their specific experiences under the Co-op Program.

UNSW Co-op Program University Medalists

At our 2009 Induction Ceremony we acknowledged the achievement of the 6 UNSW Co-op Program scholars who will be receiving university medals at their upcoming graduation ceremonies. We congratulate them again here:

  • Peggy Kuo and Lambert Kiang in Business Information Technology
  • Bei Na Wei in Electrical Engineering
  • Stephanie Pow in Finance
  • Johanness Arend Van Hensbergen in Industrial Chemistry
  • Brendan Ratter in Materials Engineering

We asked each of our medalists what they thought of receiving the University Medal, some of their responses are below.

Bei Na said:

"To me, the medal is an acknowledgement of achievement beyond marks that is recognised globally. Combining this with my invaluable Co-op industrial training, and a highly regarded degree from UNSW has gifted me with an excellent start to my career both in Australia and overseas."

Brendan said:

"It was a fantastic feeling to learn that my hard work and dedication over the course of my degree had been officially recognised. The most important lesson that the award has cemented in my mind is that if you attack your University experience head on, your development, both academically and personally, can be limitless! My academic focus, invaluable Co-op industrial training placements and extra-curricular involvement all contributed greatly to my enjoyment of University and provided a strong foundation for the world beyond."
