Please describe a highlight working with a UNSW Co-op scholar.
One of the scholars that I worked with recently highlighted to me the value this program brings to both the scholar and the sponsor. This scholar very quickly picked on challenges facing the bank and was able to help come up with creative solutions to mitigate those challenges. In the process, the scholar walked away with a deep understanding of how banks navigate through market and regulatory challenges.
In your opinion, what advantage does the UNSW Co-op Program offer its scholars in their career development?
Co-op gives scholars an early insight into what it is like to work for a large financial service organisation. It provides opportunities to work on complex business problems allowing them to develop commercial skills in tandem with finessing their technical skills.
What advice would you give to high school students considering the Co-op Program and a career in the field you work in?
Be resilient, Be willing to learn.
